We had left Los Angeles for Sequoia and had also passed through Monterey and its two very nice hotels: Portola Hotel & Spa and the Intercontinental The Clement Monterey. We had also made a stop in Santa Barbara, and were slowly going South, towards Los Angeles. And to our delight, we spent a few nights at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, far from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and closer to nature.
The main asset of this hotel located close to Malibu remains the fact that it is a Four Seasons hotel. You will therefore benefit from impeccable service, very large rooms and all the amenities you consider essential: gym and an indoor swimming pool for us. The whole place is quite gigantic, whether it is the huge park or the restaurants.

Beyond real comfort and the feeling that you could spend a week without stepping outside, we loved the fact that very nice vegan restaurants were close by, but also the fact that Four Seasons hotels are always perfect hotels for families.
The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village was a very nice surprise, despite its size and the fact we were there during summer, so it was very crowded.
Our family experience

Which room with a child?
Perfect with kids, we recommend that you choose a Corner Suite with a bedroom and a living area (for example, the Malibu Corner one-bedroom Suite). These are particularly spacious and bright suites, with very large bay windows. The bathroom is huge and the living area has a guest bathroom with toilet and sink.
The convertible sofa is carefully made every night. It is comfortable and very large, so a true princess bed!
The princess loved
As always, the princess spent a lot, a lot of time in the very large indoor pool. The Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village actually has two swimming pools, but the one outside is not accessible to children. Nevertheless, you won’t feel frustrated, as the indoor pool is huge and very pleasant. Even during summer, we sometimes had it for ourselves!
It is located at the same level as the gym which has many latest generation equipment.
On the plus side …

What about breakfast?
The breakfast served at the Coin & Candor restaurant at the Four Seasons Westlake Village is very pleasant, because the room is large and bright, BUT we preferred to go get a vegan breakfast at JOI Café, which we discovered and loved. It was an excellent value for money / gourmet food and we loved having breakfast in our room.
We’ll be back for …
We would return for the very professional and attentive, without being intrusive, service at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. But also for the particularly bright and pleasant hotel room. Finally, in order to test the spa that we did not have time to discover. Ah and for the magnificent waterfall of course, which the princess really loved.
Activities

At the hotel
The Four Seasons Westlake Village has thought of everything so that its guests can have a truly relaxing stay without even stepping outside. The Spa is one of the most popular in the United States, with 28 cabins including Spa suites with a huge bathtub. I can’t wait to try this!
In addition to the two swimming pools, you can take yoga or pilates classes on the lawn or simply enjoy the sublime park and play hide and seek with the kids.
Close to your hotel
You are not very far from Malibu and therefore from El Matador State Beach. This is one of our favorite beaches in California. You park the car, go down a few steps and find yourself on a superb beach, with a huge rocky arch. Get away from the descent of the stairs a bit and enjoy the little crabs sneaking between the rocks.
We try to get there early in the morning so that it doesn’t get too hot, and we absolutely love the seclusion that this beautiful place offers us.
