One of our almost unmissable cultural activities in London is the Natural History Museum. During our stay in December 2021, we had the chance to discover The Fantastic Beasts exhibition there, which we really liked. And it was after this long stroll through the museum that we enjoyed an Afternoon Tea. But not just any: the Science Afternoon Tea at the Ampersand Hotel.
On the theme of science, you can opt for a vegan or a vegetarian version. A colorful and very playful Science Afternoon Tea, in a calm and very pleasant setting. The Ampersand Hotel has managed to set up a lounge area away from the hotel customers, and we enjoyed a very nice moment before going to Harrods and ending the day at Winter Wonderland.
We really enjoyed …
The princess loved
The princess is not very fond of sweet flavors, so she preferred the sandwiches of the Science Afternoon Tea. Nevertheless, she really enjoyed making her little potion based on citric acid, but also rummaging in a small box with a brush, like an archaeologist, to find chocolate dinosaurs. And as soon as there is smoke, she is a fan.
She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with us on the cosy sofas, with the excitement of the evening ahead at Winter Wonderland.
Her parents liked
Although we didn’t find the Science Afternoon Tea to be really wonderful in terms of flavor, we enjoyed the concept, which is quite fun, and we are happy that it is available in a vegan version. The presentation is very pretty (on a rocket), with lots of colors. Special mention to the scones which were very good.
The Hotel Ampersand’s lounge is warm and invites you to relax over an Afternoon Tea. We could also have asked for more things to eat, but it was plentiful enough for us to even have trouble finishing!
