What is Le Garage Biarritz?
Le Garage occupies a century-old private mansion just steps from Miramar beach, fully converted by the Experimental Group, which also owns the neighboring Regina Experimental Biarritz. The building has lived several lives before becoming a hotel: an aeroclub during the Belle Époque, a private garage for the luxury cars of Régina guests in the 1930s, then a classic car repair shop. The renovation kept the building’s generous volumes and original architectural lines, paired with a carefully crafted neo-retro interior: terrazzo floors, vintage furniture, handcrafted lighting, and a color palette that nods to both the Atlantic and Basque villages.
The hotel has 27 rooms and suites, each with its own personality, some with a private terrace or garden, others with views of the ocean or the nearby Golf du Phare.

Which room did we get?
The rooms at Le Garage Biarritz lean on natural materials and graphic lines rather than piling on amenities: high-end bedding, air conditioning, an espresso machine, and terrazzo bathrooms are standard across the house.
With only 27 rooms, the atmosphere stays intimate, far from the large beach resorts along the Basque coast.
What makes it stand out
The staff, always warm and available, with a genuine will to please and stay present for guests.
We loved the room decor and the ultra-comfortable bedding, as well as the lovely breakfast buffet.
A morning walk facing the sea always does you good, and being close to some of the best escape rooms in the area will bring us back.

What about breakfast?
A buffet breakfast with quality homemade products, generous in every sense. We loved the variety on offer and how many fresh products were included. Really good pastries, a solid choice of hot drinks. Honestly, we’re fans.
Would we come back?
We’ll be back as a family to (re)discover Biarritz and enjoy walks along the seafront. We love the atmosphere at Le Garage, especially at the end of summer when things slow down and you can really take your time over a weekend. We can’t wait for our next trip to Biarritz, honestly.

At the hotel
The heated outdoor pool, open in season and lined with sun loungers, is the heart of hotel life on sunny days. The property also has private parking, a real advantage in a beach town where parking near the center can quickly become a headache.
Nearby
Miramar beach is a 4-minute walk away, as are the Biarritz lighthouse and the Grande Plage, well known among surfers for its waves. The Golf du Phare, one of Europe’s oldest 18-hole courses, overlooks the ocean just minutes from the hotel.
The town center, the Biarritz halles market, and the shops are also within walking distance, while Bayonne, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, and San Sebastián are all within reach for a day trip.
