Because we wanted to spend a few days in Biarritz for the birthday of a fulfilled mom (myself), we chose the Regina Biarritz, a MGallery hotel by Accor. Well, it’s true, we didn’t really know it would be during the G7, but then, it was an even more memorable experience!
So we arrived at the Regina Biarritz the day the G7 began. But the staff was particularly accommodating and organized and we can say that the MGallery Regina team really listens to its customers’ expectations. The housekeeping staff was really lovely with the princess and everyone was nice and thoughtful.

Our favorite part? The lobby! The Regina Biarritz, built in 1906, is an emblematic Belle Époque building. For the first time in our lives, despite our many trips, the door to our room opened directly onto the beautiful bright lobby and we loved the very special atmosphere of this hotel. It is a bit like being plunged into a distant past during a few days.
Our family experience

Which room with a child?
Choose from the rooms overlooking the ocean to enjoy a magnificent view of the nearby lighthouse and the ocean, as far as the eye can see. We therefore recommend the Ocean Superior Room (the one we booked) of 25 m2 or a Junior Suite of 45 m2.
The extra bed had been added near ours, against the bathroom wall, so the princess was very cozy. The shower can be transparent and overlook the room or be made opaque. We loved this trick. No bathtub in the Superior room.
The princess loved
The princess loved the pool, as usual. Nevertheless, as often, it is cold since it is outside. So if the sun is hidden behind clouds, you may have a refreshing time while following your little fish! Most of the time, it’s Dad’s turn!
She also really liked the lobby and wanted to eat there all the time.
On the plus side …

What about breakfast?
Breakfast is served at the Regina Biarritz restaurant (which we do not recommend for dinner if you are vegan …). It is very diverse, with many gluten-free options. We had no trouble eating a vegan breakfast, with excellent jams, yummy bread and soy yogurts.
We’ll be back for …
We are not sure if we will come back one day, but we enjoyed the experience. We would return for the location and the welcoming team.
Activities

At the hotel
The pool is located on a terrace on the parking side (the view is therefore quite ugly). It is heated to 28 °C, but sincerely, it’s difficult to go in at the end of summer, on a windy day. The solarium and the swimming pool are accessible from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Close to your hotel
Pick nature over museums in Biarritz. Take some time to discover the many paths along the ocean and, just in front of your hotel, climb the lighthouse. 73 meters above sea level, it has 248 steps. Please note, Biarritz lighthouse will reopen in April 2020 after refurbishment work.
Also, go to the city center so as not to miss the famous Rocher de la Vierge.
