We must admit, we mainly went to the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa for the spa! The Tschuggen Bergoase, a “water world”, covers no less than 5,000 square meters located on four different floors. Designed by architect Mario Botta, this pearl built in the heart of the mountains totally blew us away. Sublime, that’s the word! The spa at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa is undoubtedly the hotel’s greatest strength.

The magnificent spa of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa, the Tschuggen Bergoase, has huge swimming pools nestling against the rock. On the one hand, a cold pool (in which I obviously didn’t put even a toe) and on the other, a hot pool (so delicious), which leads us outside, for a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

Outside, it’s cold, a waterfall flows over the wall while you make sure to stay well hidden in the water so as not to shiver. Pure happiness! We stay there, admiring this incredible landscape, obviously feeling ultra privileged to be able to live such an experience. But wait, it’s not over: inside, spaces against the wall can become your own jacuzzi … you wanted to be relaxed? You will be!

Right next to the swimming pools, several spaces are designed for little ones and allow them to have fun in the water.

The Tschuggen Bergoase is obviously equipped with saunas: BE CAREFUL, it is a “real” sauna so you will have to go naked. People are perfectly used to it and therefore the atmosphere is not at all unpleasant. It’s just go to know, however, if you are more of the bashful type.

In terms of relaxation, you can choose your space: the deckchairs by the pool await you and the towels are stored in heated cabinets (for real!). A relaxation area is located at the entrance to the aquatic area. You can take a refreshment there and just relax: the princess ate a lot of fruits there during our stay!

A must do

The Tschuggen Grand Hotel‘s spa offers en extensive list of treatments and massages, with products such as Sensai, Clarins or The Organic Pharmacy. My therapist was particularly professional. Far from the rather disastrous experience at the Intercontinental The Clement Monterey, it was a true moment of relaxation and pleasure. The gestures were precise, the presence was discreet and the experience clearly did not last long enough for me, I could have stayed there for hours.

Some therapists tend to talk all the time, even during the treatment, which spoils the experience a bit when you try to answer only with “yes” or “no”. This treatment has clearly been one of the best I have had so far.

The princess loved

The princess loved the huge hot pool, which allowed her to go out, admire the mountains and come back whenever she pleased, without having to leave the swimming pool. She also really liked the jacuzzis built into the pool and would plunge to chase the bubbles. Another great memory: having a warm towel waiting for her.

Of course, we went to the spa every day and had wonderful moments of relaxation, swimming underwater for the little mermaid and contemplating this clearly unusual landscape.

The ups for kids

Your kids are over 8 years old

They will spend hours in the Tschuggen Grand Hotel swimming pool, inside and outside. They will also love the hot tubs and stretch out on their lounger, enjoying the moment. If they are brave, they can go from the cold pool to the hot pool as many times as they want!

Your kids are less than 8 years old

They are welcome to use the facilities of the Tschuggen Bergoase and will probably find it difficult to leave the spa area. For the little ones, there is a whole ultra playful space where they will have lots of fun. They will be able to run, wade, jump … Meaning… your toddlers will also be able to relax. The pool itself is large and fun enough though!
