Even if we travel a lot, we still spend many months in Bordeaux each year. Well, it’s probably not the most vegan-friendly city in the world, but we’re starting to find a few good alternatives and even entirely vegan restaurants such as Monkey Mood or delicious plant-based pastries such as Michel Mabelle, in the same neighborhood.
Monkey Mood is a vegan restaurant, but also a venue that offers Indonesian-inspired cuisine. Located in Saint-Michel district, it has a nice interior setting and a very pleasant little terrace in summer. They offer homemade hamburgers, but also rice-based dishes and very very gourmet desserts.

We really like …

The princess loves
The princess is very fond of Monkey Mood for different reasons:
- She loves their rice and vegan chicken dishes;
- She loves the decoration and especially that of the toilets :)
- She thinks everyone is very friendly.
Her parents like
We like going to Monkey Mood, because everything is always very good, very fresh and the team is very friendly. We appreciate the fact that they use lots of spices and the dishes are flavor packed. Burger lovers will be happy and they will probably discover another way to prepare their favorite dish.
We particularly like to go there at the beginning or end of summer, when we can enjoy the terrace in the evening. Our only regret is that the restaurant is far from our home and our favorite neighborhoods, otherwise we would go more often!
