If, of course, we visited the Sagrada Familia during our stay in Barcelona, it was also the perfect opportunity to make gourmet discoveries. In fact, in that matter, Barcelona is literally full of hidden gems. Rasoterra, Roots & Rolls but also Xavier Pellicer really seduced us!
Xavier Pellicer restaurant in Barcelona received the award for the “Best vegetable restaurant in the world” in 2018. This award is given by “We’re Smart Green Guide”. The restaurant room is large (it can accommodate up to 60 people) and we found that the decoration was particularly neat. Everything is very beautiful, from the walls to the wine cellar, through the green patio and even the toilets!
The chef is present and can be seen working with his team thanks to the open kitchen. Xavier Pellicer has a real presence, but we feel that the brigade works in a very positive and quiet atmosphere. And for the chef, what’s on your plate is very important. He relies on biodynamics, with local organic products, between gustatory pleasure and well-being.

We really enjoyed …

The princess loved
She has a passion for gourmet restaurants, for several reasons. First of all because everything is beautiful, from the plates, glasses … to the dishes, but also for another very specific reason: she loves when she doesn’t know what she is going to eat and when she has to wait for the next dish with great impatience. As a result, the tasting menu at Xavier Pellicer literally delighted her.
Her parents liked
Xavier Pellicer is clearly one of our best dining experiences. The chef perfectly knows his subject. He has a lot of experience, having worked in the kitchens of Le Carré des Feuillants in Paris or even L’Abac in Barcelona.
The 100% plant-based tasting menu represents a real gastronomic experience around vegetables and each dish is totally different from the previous one. The plates, bowls … are also very elaborate in order to highlight the vegetables. We had a great time, with some nice surprises and the pleasure of seeing the team at work. And to pair with our meal, what could be better than natural wines!
Another strong point, the service is very pleasant, efficient and they congratulated the princess for having eaten so well.
